Grand Hotel Beijing
Grand Hotel Beijing is a joint venture constructed by Beijing Capital Tourism Group Co., Ltd. and Fok Ying Tung Investment Co., Ltd. of Hong Kong. Boasting a unique geographical location, it is adjacent to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, facing Chang’an Avenue, making it a luxurious five-star hotel within the imperial city. Standing on the top-floor terrace, one can have a panoramic view of the entire Forbidden City.
In 1999, Grand Hotel Beijing was awarded the Five-Star Diamond Award by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. It has also won the "Capital Tourism Purple Gold Cup" for three consecutive sessions. Since its opening, the hotel has successfully hosted distinguished guests including former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former French President Jacques Chirac, as well as business delegations such as the executive group of Anheuser-Busch. In 2008, serving as the Headquarters Hotel for the Olympic Family, the hotel perfectly fulfilled the accommodation and reception services for distinguished guests of the Beijing Olympic Games, winning wide recognition and high praise.
The hotel houses 217 guest rooms, consisting of 160 standard rooms and Forbidden City View Rooms, and 57 suites of various types, including deluxe suites, ambassador suites and imperial suites. All wooden furniture in the rooms is made of rosewood. The traditional Chinese paintings hanging in the rooms complement the antique furnishings, exuding a strong flavor of traditional Chinese culture. The Forbidden City View Rooms offer a clear panoramic overlook of the Forbidden City, while some rooms face Chang’an Avenue and the lush garden lobby. All rooms are equipped with portable computer Internet ports, free broadband Internet access and complimentary fax machines. The bathrooms feature separate shower and bathtub facilities.
The hotel’s signature Yufu Official Cuisine inherits the strengths of traditional official cuisine, imperial cuisine and local famous dishes, enhanced with the exclusive "secret recipes" of Yufu at Grand Hotel Beijing. It is renowned in the capital for its premium ingredients, exquisite cooking techniques, mellow flavors and profound cultural connotations. Representative dishes include Yufu Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and Yufu Braised Abalone, which feature rich sauces, intense flavors, long aftertastes and exceptional nourishing benefits.
The fitness center on the third floor of the hotel is equipped with sauna, steam room, indoor swimming pool, gym and massage facilities. After a busy day of work, guests can relax both physically and mentally here, relieving fatigue and tension.
