Guilin Public Bus Information
Free Buses (8:00 – 17:00, routes starting with number 5)
Guilin was among the first cities in China to launch free public bus services. There are 8 free bus routes in operation, a distinctive feature of the city.
- Route 51: Departs from East Ring Bus Depot, passing Flower & Bird Market, North Pole Square, North Feng Road, Central Square, and terminates at Guilin Railway Station.
- Route 52: Departs from East Ring Bus Depot, passing Sanlidian Square and Longyin Road, and terminates at Seven Stars Park.
- Route 53: Departs from Guilin Public Transport Corporation, passing West Ring Road, and terminates at North Pole Square.
- Route 54: Departs from South Guilin Railway Station, passing Shanghai Road, Anxin Community, Chuanshan Park, Sanlidian Square, and terminates at the High-tech Zone.
- Route 55: Departs from Pingshan, passing South Ring Road and Jingpingshan Bridge, and terminates at the Vehicle Administration Office.
- Route 56: A circular route starting and ending at Pingshan. It runs via Nanxi Park, Shanghai Overpass, Xiangjiang Hotel, Jiangjun Road and No.8 Middle School Intersection.
- Route 57: A circular route starting and ending at Xifeng Road. It passes the College of Education, Children's Palace, West Gate Bridge, South Gate Bridge, Elephant Hill Park, Jiefang Bridge, Cross Street and Art Museum.
- Route 58: Departs from Nanxi Mountain Park, passing Elephant Hill Park, Seven Stars Park, Folk Custom Garden, Fubo Hill Park, Diecai Hill Park and Yu Hill Park, and terminates at Reed Flute Cave Park.
Notice: Free buses generally have longer waiting intervals. Since rides are free, these buses tend to be crowded. Please keep a close eye on your personal belongings.
Free Shuttle Buses for City 4A Scenic Spots
When visiting 4A-level scenic spots in downtown Guilin, tourists only need to buy admission tickets at any designated ticket booth within the scenic areas (tickets for all attractions are available at a single booth) to take the free shuttle buses operated by Guilin Tourism Development Corporation.
Shuttle buses depart from Seven Stars Park every 15 minutes and stop for 3 minutes at each scenic spot. You may board the bus at designated stops near each attraction entrance. Professional tour guides are on board for your convenience.
- First bus: Seven Stars Park (8:15), Reed Flute Cave (9:15)
- Last bus: Seven Stars Park (16:20), Reed Flute Cave (17:20)
Regular Public Buses
Public transport in downtown Guilin is highly convenient. Most buses are coin-operated with no conductors. The fare is 1.2 yuan, and no change will be given.
