The protected list of traditional place names in the Three Mountains and Five Gardens area will be published for public feedback until December 15. The Three Mountains and Five Gardens were first built in the Liao and Jin Dynasties and formed during the heyday of the Qing Dynasty. They are a collective name for the cultural heritage of various historical periods represented by the royal gardens in the northwest suburbs of Beijing. They were the places where the emperors of the Qing Dynasty rested, visited, lived, and managed politics. Specifically, the "Three Mountains" refer to Xiangshan Mountain, Yuquan Mountain and Wanshou Mountain; the "Five Gardens" refer to Jingyi Garden, Jingming Garden, Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace and Changchun Garden.
In order to implement the control and regulation of the functional core area of the capital and the construction of the national cultural center, starting from 2020, the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission organized the screening and published the "Protection List of Traditional Place Names in the Capital Functional Core Area" in two batches, including a total of similar place names in streets, alleys and alleys. 1111.
