Day 1: Departure from Sanya

Leave Sanya at 8:00 to arrive in Diao Luo Mountain Rainforest Park at 09:30. See how well the mountain and lake scenery compliment each other as you make your way across the gulley to Hainan’s largest group of waterfalls. At 12:30 arrive at the park administrative offices where you will be served a traditional lunch. After lunch set off up the ridge to Stone Eye Waterfall and enjoy the varied scenery on the way. Arrive at Dialo Luo Shan Holiday Village at 16:00 then at 17:30 enjoy a traditional hot put supper. Overnight accommodation in the holiday village is in log cabins.

Day 2: Diao Luo Mountain

: After breakfast at 07:00 set off at 08:00 and at 09:30 begin the traverse of the Diao Luo Mountain Gully amongst the many waterfalls and natural springs. At 12:00 arrive at the Feng Guo Waterfall , the largest in Hainan and enjoy a picnic lunch whilst watching the water cascade down the falls accompanied by thunderous roars. Leave Diao Luo Mountain at 13:00 to arrive in Ling Shui at 14:30. Enjoy a local style lunch before proceeding to Wanning at 16:30. Overnight accomodation in Wanning.

Day 3: Grand Island

After breakfast leave Wanning at 08:30 for the trip to Xin Qun harbour. Board a boat for Da Zhou Island and enjoy views of the lighthouse and distant caves on the way before docking and enjoying a 12:30 picnic lunch. After lunch take another boat for a closer inspection of the caves where the swifts make their nests and to see the local fishermen at work. After that return to the beach to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, fishing for crabs and shell collecting. Leave Da Zhou Island at 16:00 and return to Xin Qun harbour. At 17:00 head for Qionghai and your overnight accommodation. Enjoy a local dinner in Qionghai before turning in for the night.

Day 4: Qionghai - Haikou (B, L, D)

Leave Qionghai at 08:30 for the trip to Qing Lan Harbour via Changpo town and Hui Wen town. Cross Ba Men Bay by boat then on by road to Dong Jiao town whilst enjoying the roadside views of the huge coconut grove. At 11:00, ascend Tongu Ridge and gaze at the distant Seven Islands Archipelago and Moon Bay down below. Take in the sights of the Wind Rocking Stone and the long sea corridor before departing at 13:30 for the Mei Fu village of Bao Fang. Here you will enjoy a typical peasant lunch followed by a sightseeing tour of the village. Leave the village at at 15:30 for a visit to the Temple of Confucius in Wanning. Afterwards take the expressway for the trip to Haikou and your overnight accommodation

Day 5: Haikou

On this day you will enjoy a taste of Haikou, the capital of Hainan. Visit the old streets of the city including Bo Ai Street, Zhong Shan Street, Jie Fang Lu and the antique market at Dong Men. Take in the sights of the bell tower, the former Qiong Zhou customs house, Madame Xian’s house, the Womens’ Temple, Buddhist Temple and the Farmers Market. In the evening enjoy sampling the local Fu Shan coffee before appending the night in Haikou.

Day 6: Haikou - Dongfang

Leave Haikou at 08:30 to arrive at the historic city of Chang Hua at midday. Visit the Wang Miao temple then at 13:00 enjoy lunch in a typical local restaurant. Leave Chang Hua at 14:30 for a trip to Chess Piece Bay where you can view the beach and the coral cistern (tide dependant). Afterwards take a trip to the Goddess of Mercy Pool , eating wild pineapple and prickly pear on the way. At 16:30 return to Chess Piece Bay to swim, catch crabs and collect shells before heading to Dong Fang town at 18:00 for a 20:00 arrival. Overnight accommodation in Dong Fang.

Day 7: Return to Sanya

After a 7:30 breakfast, leave Dong Fang and make your way along the Chang Hua River Vally taking in the beautiful scenery on the way. See the huge dam and reservoir and marvel at the tropical countryside of West Hainan. Look around the traditional Li Minority village of Bai Cha where the traditional straw thatch houses have the unusual shape of an upturned boat. Watch the local women weaving their brightly coloured traditional cloth. At 12:30 enjoy a typical local lunch in Ledong Town before leaving at 14:00 to arrive back in Sanya at 16:00
