In the Miyun Cave in Prince Kung’s Mansion, there stands the stone tablet with inscription of Emperor Kangxi - the Chinese character “Fu”, which means happiness. It is a rather precious cultural relic of the middle term of the Qing Dynasty.
It is said that Emperor Kangxi conferred this inscription in the 60th birthday of Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang, carrying the connotation of “continuous descendent, great wisdom, broad farmland, long lifetime and endless happiness”, from which Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang obtained happiness and prolonged life, becoming a favorable tale; subsequently, He Shen privately engraved it into a stela and inserted it into the stone laying carved with the Chinese character “Shou” in the garden, which means long life span, praying for the “gathering of happiness and longevity”.
Due to the rareness of autograph of Emperor Kangxi, particularly the uniqueness of “Fu”, this inscription has been consecrated as “The First Fu in the World” by common people. Fu Tablet has been regarded as the “One Treasure” among “Three Brilliances and One Treasure” of Prince Kung’s Mansion.
