The Museum of Chinese Medical History is located in the courtyard of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is affiliated with the Institute of Chinese Medical History and Documentation of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With its rich collections spanning a long time, it plays an important role in popularizing common knowledge, summarizing medical experience, and nurturing scientific and technological talents.
The collection of more than 2,000 pieces contains fine artifacts of Chinese medicine from the Neolithic period to modern times. It also systematically and comprehensively presents the history and achievements of the origin, formation and development of Chinese medicine. Both medical instruments from the ancient era, such as stone needles, stone axes and stone scythes, as well as manuscripts and topiaries of imperial medical books and good medical books, ceramics, bronze and jade Chinese medical and surgical items are exhibited here. A considerable number of ancient realistic portraits of famous doctors and ink scripts of famous doctors' manuscripts are also collections with academic research value.
