Beijing is the most familiar city, but there is a place in Beijing that you may not have been to. In the hot urban area in summer, it is only 22 degrees during the day and extremely cool at night. The temperature is only about 15 degrees. It's called the back garden of Beijing. It's only two hours' drive from downtown Beijing. This place is Haituo Valley beside Yanqing in Beijing.
In 2009, Haituo mountain was selected as one of China's top ten "non famous mountain peaks" selected by the Institute of geography of Chinese Academy of Sciences and China National Geographic magazine, and became the place that mountaineers all over the country yearn for. It is the most complete natural ecosystem around Beijing.
The ridge is the boundary between Chicheng County and Beijing city. The back lit hillside is Dahaituo National Nature Reserve, and the sunny hillside is Songshan National Nature Reserve. These are the unique natural environment of Haituo valley.
Haituo mountain is located at the junction of Yanqing District of Beijing and Chicheng County of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Its main peak is 2241 meters above sea level. It is the second highest peak in Beijing and the first peak in Yanqing.
Approaching here, you can see the valley surrounded by thousands of acres of birch forest. It is 18 kilometers away from Yanqing city and 90 kilometers away from the third North Ring Road of Beijing. It is a part of the ecological conservation area in northern Beijing. Blue sky, white clouds, colorful flowers, continuous peaks, a typical exotic town. Walking in the valley, there are tent camp, RV camp, farm, lake, thousands of acres of birch forest surrounded by mountains, full of vitality, and Swiss style architecture,
It's like walking in a beautiful town in Switzerland. Some lovely white rabbits and red cow arches can be seen everywhere on the whole grassland. Tourists take photos. From the grassland in shangpi, it looks like the grassland in a European town.
