This is a mountain village with beautiful natural scenery and unique cultural charm. It is: Yanjiatai village. It is located in the north of Qingshui Town, Mentougou District.
Yanjiatai village was built in the Yuan Dynasty. It is said that the earliest village was called Erlongtai village, which was later changed to the present name.
As soon as you enter the entrance of Yanjiatai village, you will first see the red walls and grey tiles, and the simple and elegant buildings. The sign on the upper floor reads "Yanjiatai", which is very eye-catching.
Yanjiatai village is worthy of the name of an ancient village. There are still four courtyard houses in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Beside the door, there are exquisitely carved stones. The whole courtyard has a unique and exquisite shape.
Although the ancient courtyard buildings of Yanjiatai village are not as famous as Cuandiaxia village, they are also typical ancient villages in the west of Beijing. The quadrangles in the village during the Ming and Qing Dynasties were well preserved.
There is one of the biggest walnut trees in Beijing in the village, known as the "king of walnut" in North China. In the season of autumn and summer, when you come to the village to taste walnuts, you can enjoy the opera which is rare in Beijing. Walking in the village, our thoughts seem to go back to the long river of history and indulge in the unique charm of ancient villages.
