“He shoots， he scores！” The audience stands to cheer on their team， the Vancouver Canucks. Fans in bright red jerseys and painted faces jump in excitement. People in Vancouver love ice hockey. Ice hockey was born. The popularity of this new winter sport soon spread throughout Canada and the northeastern United States. An American student at a prep school in New Hampshire helped to establish the game‘s official rules in 1885.
