Air
There are four airports in Hengyang: Hengyang Airport, Nanyue Airport, Dapu General Airport and Yaotian Airport. By now, only Nanyue Airport works for civil aviation. The airport lies at Yunjin Town, Hengnan County, Hengyang City, and it has operated since the end of 2014. Apart from Hengyang, the airport serves the surrounding areas like Shaoyang, Chenzhou, Yongzhou, Loudi, Yanling and Chaling. The only terminal building has its 1F as Arrival Floor and 2F as Departure Floor. Air routes have been opened to some popular cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Kunming, Sanya, Zhangjiajie, Chongqing and Fuzhou.
Train
Hengyang Railway Station is located in the Zhuhui District. Every day there are non-bullet trains to other big cities in China and to Zhangjiajie or Changsha in Hunan Province. Bus No. 1, 7, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 27, 32, 36... will take you to the Railway Station.
Hengyang East Railway Station is a high speed train station, servicing high speed trains running along Beijing-Guangzhou High Speed Railway. It has been connected with Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xi'an, Guilin, Changsha, and Wuhan...
Hengshan West Railway Station has high speed trains to/from Guangzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen and Wuhan…. It is the closest railway station from Mt. Hengshan with distance of only 8 kilometers (5 miles) between.

Long-Distance Bus
There are two long-distance bus stations in the city. One is Central Bus Station (the former Western Bus Station) located in Jiefang Road (west). There are buses running to other cities within Hunan Province such as Changsha, Xiangtan, Zhuzhou, Shaoyang, Yongzhou. Moreover, there are buses to reach Guangxi Province including Guilin, and Guangdong Province including Shenzhen, Huidong, Zhongshan. From the city center take bus No.1, 101, 104, 14, 19, 21, 22, 28, 303, 31, 8, K1, K39, Huancheng A Line, Huancheng B Line and you will arrive at this station.
The other station is Huaxin Bus Station located in the suburban area of Huaxin Development Zone. This station is the largest and the most modern passenger bus station in the southern Hunan area. Buses No.19, 101, 104 and K1 in the city center will take you there. The buses in this station are mostly to surrounding cities and counties such as Shaoyang, Qidong, Yongzhou.
City-Bus
There are more than 40 bus lines in Hengyang City covering most of the main buildings and avenues within it. Most of the buses run from about 06:30 to 19:30. However, buses No.9, 25, 28 operate until 21:00 and even bus K1 will operate for 24 hours for night owls. The ticket fare for K1 is CNY2 while the ticket fare of other lines is CNY1. Bus No.16 passes by the following stations: Shigu Square, Xinquan Hotel, Hengnan People's Hospital, Longquan Shopping Mall, Jinguo Crossing, Central Hospital, Yanfeng Park, Guangdong Crossing, and Hengyang Railway Station
Huancheng B passes by the following stations: Guangdong Crossing, Daqing Crossing, Western Bus Station, Nanhua University, The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University, and Hengyang Railway Station
Taxi
In Hengyang, it is convenient to travel by taxi and you can easily flag down one along the street. Many people choose to take taxi because of the low price: the base price is CNY6 for the first 1.2 mi (2 km) during the day and CNY7 at night between 22:00 and 06:00 the next day; every additional kilometer costs CNY1.6. Within 3 min’s waiting, it is free of charge; for each extra 3 min's waiting, CNY1 is charged.
