Zhangjiakou is not as bustling as other Chinese big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, but you can still do good shopping there. The local snacks would definitely draw your attention. Taste some and you can also bring them home. Some large malls are fine choices for young people and women. Although Carrefour and Walmart are unavailable in the city, some other supermarkets can well meet the demands of the locals.
