China Spring and Autumn Yancheng Scenic Area is located in the south of Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province. Spring and Autumn Period in Chinese history lasts from 770BC to 476BC. China Spring and Autumn Yancheng Scenic Area mainly exhibits the culture of that time by reproducing historical scenes back then. As an integrated visiting zone, visitors can also see historical relics of Spring and Autumn Period, have fun, get relaxed, interact with animals, and go shopping here. This tourism area is composed of following scenic zones:
Spring and Autumn Yancheng Ruins
China Spring and Autumn Yancheng Scenic Area is located to the south of Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province. The Spring and Autumn Period, lasts from 770BC to 476BC. This tourism area is composed of the following scenic zones:
Yancheng Spring and Autumn Amusement Land
Yancheng Spring and Autumn Amusement Land is not only the central and fundamental visiting zone in the China Spring and Autumn Yancheng Scenic Area, but also the first culture theme park on Spring and Autumn Period in China. Spring and Autumn Amusement Land is built to the northeast of Yancheng Ruins and reproduces the political, military, economic and cultural situations in Spring and Autumn Period. Besides, there are various performances and entertainment projects.
Yancheng Wild Animal World
Yancheng Wild Animal World, located to the southwest of Yancheng Ruins, is a self-drive, wildlife park where animals are free to roam and also hosts circus performances. In this wildlife park, you can view over 200 kinds of rare and endangered wild animals totaling more than 10,000 from all over the world. It is the only wildlife park of this size in Jiangsu Province. The zoo has also set up a panda house and introduced two pandas from Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Yancheng Traditional Business Street
This business street is located to the east of Spring and Autumn Yancheng Ruins. It is composed of a lake and three ancient streets. All of these streets face the port and sit alongside the river. The buildings in this zone are constructed in Qin style. Inside the streets are Yancheng Gallery, Yancheng Museum and opera houses. There are local specialties, souvenirs and folk artwork.
Baolin Temple
This temple is located to the northwest of Yancheng Ruins. After several reconstruction, Baolin Temple is of larger scale with profound Buddhist culture. The landmark building in the temple is a Guanyin Pavilion with a statue of Guanyin (a Buddha of wisdom and mercy) inside. This statue is 40 meters (131 feet) tall.
How to get to China Spring and Autumn Yancheng Scenic Area
1. Take bus no. 67, 307, or 319 to Yancheng City Bus Center (Yancheng Gongjiao Zhongxinzhan), then walk north to get there.
2. Take bus no.14 or B19 to Yancheng City Bus Hub (Yancheng Gongjiao Shuniu), then walk northward to get there.
