Situated in northeastern part of Sichuan Province and middle part of Jialing River, Langzhong Ancient City is about 80 miles (150 kilometers) from Nanchong, 162 miles (260 kilometers) from Chengdu and 174 miles (280 kilometers) from Chongqing. Tourists can arrive here easily by air, train or long-distance bus via these cities. Inside it, there are sightseeing buses, sightseeing boats, city buses, and taxis, etc for visitors to travel around.
How to Get to Langzhong?
Air
There are three airports available, including Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport and Nanchong Gaoping Airport.
Chengdu Shuangliu Airport:
1. Upon arrival, take airport shuttle bus line 2 to Tianfu Square East, change to city bus no.64 to Liangjiaxiang, walk northeast for about 100 yards to Beimen Long-distance Bus Station, and then take a long-distance bus to Langzhong.
2. Or take airport shuttle bus line 2 to Chengdu Railway Station, walk westward about 1,000 yards to Chengbei Long-distance Bus Station, and then take a long-distance bus to Langzhong.
Chongqing Jiangbei Airport
1. Upon arrival, there are two direct long-distance buses at 10:50 and 13:20 going to Langzhong. Ticket fare is around CNY 100 and duration is about 3.5-4 hours.
2. If missing these two buses, take the subway line 3 from the airport to Lianglukou Station. Then take the Exit 3 and walk about 610 yards to the Caiyuanba Bus Station, where you can take the long-distance bus to Langzhong.
3. Or take the subway line 3 to Chongqing North Railway Station. Take the Exit 2 and walk about 480 yards to Longtousi Bus Station. There are also buses available to Langzhong at that bus station.
Nanchong Gaoping Airport
1. Upon arrival, take a taxi to Chengbei Bus Station at a cost of CNY30 around. In the bus station, one can take the buses to Langzhong city.
2. If hiring a taxi or a car from the airport to Langzhong city directly, the fare would be CNY500 around for a single trip.
Train
If traveling by train to Langzhong, one can reach Nanchong Railway Station or Guangyuan Railway Station first.
Nanchong Railway Station: Upon arrival, walk about 350 yards to Nanchong Chengbei Bus Station, where you can take the buses to the ancient city.
Guangyuan Railway Station: Upon arrival, walk about 450 yards to Shangxiba Bus Station and then take a bus from there to Langzhong.

Line 2 (Local dwellings and alleys sightseeing): Weide Archway – Wenmiao Temple – Zhongtian Tower – Zhangfei Temple – Shuangzhazi Street – Jiangbian Parking Lot – Shangxin Street – Shuimatou Inn – Huaguang Tower – Tourists Reception Center
Line 3 (Commercial Streets): Number One Scholar Archway – Huajiantang – Zhongtian Tower – Zhangfei Temple – Wenmiao Temple – Gongyuan Courtyard
Tips:
The ticket is only valid on the issuing day, and one can get on and off at any stops and change lines with one ticket.
Sightseeing Bus Rental
If visitors want to tour around according to their own route, they can hire a sightseeing bus, and the fare is CNY500 per hour.
Sightseeing Bus within Scenic Areas
There are sightseeing buses running within Heavenly Palace Scenic Area and Jinping Mountain Scenic Area. The ticket fare is CNY 20 and CNY 10 per person respectively.
Sightseeing Boat
The boat cruises along the Jialing River within the town, by which tourists can appreciate the scenery from a different perspective.
Operation Hours: 08:00 – 19:00
Ticket Fare: CNY30 per person
Children under 3.9 feet (1.2 meters) can enjoy the cruise for free.
Boat boarding site: Huaguang Tower Wharf
Tip: The boat only departs when passengers reach up to 6-8, so sometimes, one may need to wait for a while.
