Wuhan Science and Technology Museum, also known as Wuhan Science Museum, is located in Yanjiang Road, Jiang’an District and was built in 1987. And now it has become a new landmark of science education in Wuhan. Through varieties of modern scientific equipment and rich interactive displays, like Virtual Water Wall, Infrared Radiation and Wave Climbing Surfboard, visitors can understand a full range of natural science. It is also a must-see for children to learn and have fun.
Wuhan Science Museum has eight exhibition halls on three floors: Universe, Life, Water, Light, Information, Traffic, Math, Children’s Exhibition Hall, and an outdoor “Ship World” exhibition area. More than 600 items are on display in these halls, with innovations accounting for more than 40 percent of the total. Through these interactive exhibits, you can learn more about science and understand the impact of technology on life.

What to See on the First Floor
Light Exhibition Hall
The Light Exhibition Hall shows visitors the gorgeous optical phenomenon and the basic principle of optics. There are 74 light items on display in this hall. The Shadow Wall captures the visitor’s figures through infrared light, thus projecting customized dynamic images. According to the principle that light travels in a straight line in the same homogeneous medium, visitors can adjust the angle of the plane mirror to create the artistic effect of face mosaic.

Information Exhibition Hall
In the information exhibition hall, there is the first robot exhibit of Wuhan Science and Technology Museum – “Robot Sand Painter”. In a few minutes, the intelligent painter can paint a beautiful sand landscape. In addition, there are two Perception and Communication Areas in this hall: Perception and Communication of Animals and Plant and Perception and Communication of Human Beings, such as Bat’s Ultrasonic Sound, Mimosa’s Secret and Human’s Touch of Braille. The hall also shows 3D printing, robots playing chess and other high-end technology display.

The exhibition has 67 exhibits, respectively showing the evolution course of land, water and air transportation. The principle of maglev train and aircraft flight makes you more aware of the wonderful traffic in life. Here you can also know all aspects of Wuhan traffic through the three-dimensional section of the traffic model etc.

Math Exhibition Hall
“The power of mathematics” is the theme of this exhibition hall. Mobius belt, quad-wheel bicycle and binary height measurement are very interesting projects here. Wonderful mathematical knowledge on colorful boards and interesting mathematical experiments can help you learn more about the evolution of mathematics as well as the daily application of math.

Children’s Exhibition Hall
The 93 exhibits in the exhibition hall are scientific and technological products mainly suitable for the physical and mental characteristics of children aged 3-8. Climbing Wall, Wave Climbing Surfboard and Single-plank Bridge all allow children to have fun and learn about the sciences of these projects. In addition, there is a “Golden House” and a “Children’s Science Popularization Theater” for children aged 1 to 3.
