Prince Zhuang’s Mansion was located in Xisi Beitaipingcang, to the north of Mazhuangyuan Hutong. Shuosai, the fifth child of Emperor Taizong, was called Chengze Duke in the first year of Emperor Shunzhi. Boguoduo, the first son of Shuosai, inherited his prince in the 12th year of Emperor Shunzhi, and renamed title “Zhuang”. Prince Zhuang was inherited after that.
In 1920s, Li Chun, the Northern Warlord and his brother Li Xin bought the mansion. They demolished the buildings of the mansion and rebuilt as houses here called “Pinganli”. The carved head casing of the house was preserved in the Cultural Relics Bureau of Xicheng District. Hereafter, it was built as Pinganli Street. The site was divided into the south and north areas. Now the Taipingcang Xikou was the site of Prince Zhuang’ s Mansion.
