Beijing Shooting Hall built for the 2008 Olympic Games is located west of the western fifth ring road in Shijingshan District, Beijing. It takes up an area of around 7.5 hectares with a construction area of 48,000 square meters. It offers 8552 seats during the period of the Olympic Games, of which 6451 seats are temporary. It has become a valuable legacy of the 2008 Olympic Games and a new highlight of the city architecture.
Its design successfully integrated natural elements. The construction uses a lot of glasses. It allows people to have a view of the outside. Its construction was finished in the first half of the year 2006. After Beijing Olympic Games, it is used to hold various competitions and as the training base for the national shooting teams. It also serves as a platform to publicize the shooting sports.
