Located at No. 19 Qianhaibeiyan, Shichahai, Xicheng District, Huixiantang Hall is one of the “Eight Halls of Beijing”. The Huixian Hall was the private mansion of Bin Ru, the Ceremonial Master of the Guangxu period of the Qing dynasty.

The former site of Huixiantang Hall covers an area of about 3,000 square meters with the building area of 1,800 square meters. The former part of the yard was rebuilt as a 2-floor building. There used to be a stage for Peking Opera performances and more than 100 rooms. On the second floor, people can see the Shichahai area.
There is a sign saying Huixiantang Restaurant on the gate wall and “Qunxianbizhi” on the door. It was the place where men of lecture and writing gathered and also the place where Peking Operas were performed. Later, the restaurant was closed and this place was bought by Furen University.
