Huiyuan Valley is located in Ganjianyu Village, 5 kilometres northwest of Huairou's urban centre. 50 kilometres from downtown Beijing, the valley covers an area of over 10 square miles, has 82% forest coverage and boasts exceptional scenery and ecology. With mild weather, abundant rainfall and large numbers of sweet water springs, it forms a typical rare wetland in Beijing. When in full blossom, rattlebushs grow across 1500 meters are quite beautiful and colorful with their sharp aromas. The unique wetland climate makes the temperature of Huiyuan Valley 4℃ to 5℃lower than the urban area. In summer, tourists can hike the mountains, have a rest under the trees or appreciate 140 kinds of lotus and wild lilys in the valley, as if they place in the land of idyllic beauty and enjoy themselves so much as to forget to leave.
With beautiful landscapes, simple ecology, long history as well as holy mountains and waters, Hongluo Huiyuan Valley was known as “Pure Land of Buddhist, Earthly Paradise, Dreamlike Heaven”. It is the place where you get back to nature, search out the sacred and ancient sites, find both joy and wisdom, and experience Buddhist practice first hand.
