The park is located in the Yanshan Mountain in the confines of Yanqing of Beijing beside Baihe River, also a stop in tour route of Cangmi Gudao (Cangmi Ancient Path). It is 100 km from downtown Beijing and 30 km from Yanqing County which boasts great ecologic environment, abundant geological relics, green mountains and blue waters, beautiful environment, pleasant climate, plain folk customs and convenient transportation, and is a great place to build a geological park.
The Park as the only geological park themed on woodstone in China has five scenic areas and 25 scenic spots, spanning 26 km from east to west and 8 km from north to south and covering an area of 226 square kilometers, and is the national geological park integrating sightseeing, recreation and vacation, geological research and scientific popularization, highlighted by gorgeous landscapes and unique styles.
