Xizhimen Catholic Church, also named Virgin Garment Don and West Church, fares poorly in the ranking of history among Beijing’s four catholic churches. What we see today is a renovated one in 2008. After renovation, the altar is paved with marble floor; it stands just like a three-fold splendid pointed-arch painting of the Coronation of the Virgin; white Chinese sacrificial altar resembles Noah’s Ark. And the Latin altar in the most front is valuable heritage inherited from the early churches.
