The Great Princess Mansion was originally located in Dongcheng District and was changed to the mansion of Emperor Xianfeng’s daughter in the 8th year of Emperor Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty. Later, this mansion was transferred to the eldest daughter of Prince Gong. Since then, it has been named Great Prince Mansion (Great means first in the special situation in Chinese).
