Tongzhou Grand Canal Park is a large ecological park integrating the the Grand Canal Culture Square, Grand Canal Olympic Park and Ecological Park, serving multiple functions including leisure, entertainment, education, sports, sports contest, fitness and sightseeing. It is also the largest urban park in east Beijing. There are 18 scenic spots in 6 scenic areas on both river banks reflecting concepts of ecology, low carbon and humanities of Tongzhou New City.
Following the principles of Ecology First, Protection As the Primary, Adherence to Economy and Innovative Management, sticking to the concept of integration, feature, history and comprehensive utilization, the unique Grand Canal Forest Park was established with features of 1 River, 2 Banks, 6 Gardens and 18 Scenic Spots, under the design idea of Green as Body, Water as soul, Interdependence of Body and Soul.
