Long Tan Park occupies a total area of 49.2 hectares. Approximately 19.47 hectares of this land mass is covered by water. The scenic spots alternate with each other along the lake and the lake from the water is well known as one of the freshest areas to find water in the city. Longtan Park is located in the opposite of Longtan Beili Community in Dongcheng District, a 4A tourism park in Beijing. It is a prominent place for leisure, entertainment, fitness in the south of Beijing. In addition, it hosts a spring festival temple fair every year- one of the top four temple fairs in Beijing.
Longtan Park is a new-style city park combines classical architecture and modern gardening that exudes a “dragon” theme. With beautiful scenes, advanced facilities and very good services, Longtan Park has become an important exercise and entertainment place for the residents in Beijing and has also attracted numerous visitors each year. Trees planted in the park have been given names such as Dragon Cypress, Dragon Beard Willow, and Dragon Pawn Pagoda Tree. Even upon entering the park, visitors are immediately welcomed by 2 dragons whose bodies are made of flowers and plants.
