Beijing Shihua Cave (Stone Flower Cave) reveals colorful and exquisite natural scenes in various shapes such as stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, stone waterfalls, stone edge slot, stone dam, terraced flow stone formed by deposited water drops, streams and stagnant water, as well as crystal flowers, helictite, curlstone, crystal flowers, stonefur, chrysanthemum stone, stone pearls and spherical stalactites formed by deposited permeate water, splashing water and capillary water. There are glittering and translucent soda straw, stone pearls, towers and walls, various colorful cave flags and beautiful cave shields as the typical cave deposits in China, and large amount of moonmilk lotuses which are first found in the caves. Thus the cave has high scientific research and aesthetic appreciation value.
Shihua Cave is located at the west of Fangshan District, about 40 kilometers west of downtown Beijing. With a constant temperature of 13℃, the cave is a good place for a weekend getaway in the suburbs of Beijing. It has many stone flowers in various shapes, which is one of the most viewable scenes in China, including multiple rare layers formed by crustal movement. The open area is installed with colored lights, providing a fantastic landscape perfect for viewing and photography.
