Haikou Jiangdong New Area consists of an eastern ecological function region and a western industry-city integration area. 

The eastern ecological function region includes the Dongzhai Port National Nature Reserve, while the western industry-city integration area includes the airport economic zone, coastal ecological headquarter center, riverside international vitality center, the international cultural communication cluster, the international comprehensive service cluster, the international offshore innovation and entrepreneurship cluster, as well as the international higher education and research cluster.
