Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City consists of Nanfan Science and Technology City, Sanya Deep Ocean Science and Technology City, the College Town, Nanshan Port, as well as the Global Animal and Plant Germplasm Resources Transfer Base. 

To achieve economic progress, supporting facilities projects covering education, medical care, housing, transportation, and commerce have been launched and preferential policies have been implemented, as well as investment promotion strategies focusing on introducing leading high-tech enterprises and universities have been formulated in Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City.

The preferential policies include: national-level and provincial-level technology enterprise incubators will receive a one-time award of 2 million yuan ($280,000) and 1.2 million yuan ($170,000) yuan; incubators admitted by the local government department will be awarded 600,000 yuan each; registered enterprises that have been newly admitted as national-level high-tech enterprises will be awarded 500,000 yuan in addition to awards from Hainan province and Sanya.
