Baisha Li autonomous county is situated in the west-central Hainan island and at the middle section of Limu mountain. It covers an area of 2,117.2 square kilometers, among which 24,533 hectares (245.33 sq km) are farmlands. The county has 440 mountains, among which Yinggeling mountain is the highest one at 1,812 meters. There are 30 rivers in the county with water energy reserves up to 38,400 Kw. Nandu river, Changhua river and Zhubi river all originate from the county.

There are 203,000 people living in the county; most of them are Li and Han ethnic groups spoken with Li dialect, Hainan dialect, Miao dialect, mandarin and Danzhou dialect.
Baisha's unique tourism resources include Bangxi Cervus eldii, Fuxi Hot Springs, Baisha Cold Spring, Hongkan Waterfall, Baisha meteor crater, Xiangmin Bat Cave and Shicai sites.
